Our MISSION ACTION PLAN

Implementing Life Together

Our Mission action plan for 2008-2009 is to focus particularly on commending God's love for the world through out reach to our community by:

September 2008

Patronal festival celebrations to include Commisioning of new Head Teacher marking the begining of closer cooperation between church and school.
"Back to Church Sunday" - when we extend personal invitations to former church members and those we consider might be interested.

November 2008

All Souls' Day Service - when we invite those who have been recently bereaved. Providing refreshments, literature on our church and the newly formed bereavement group.

Christmas 2008

Advertise our services throughout the parish and make the most of the liturgical opportunities to draw families into our church life.

February 2009

Candlemas celebrations - inviting families of the recently baptised to family centred Mass and social gathering.

Lent/Eastertide 2009

Provide a "Back to Basics" course for those exploring matters relating to the Christian faith including the Easter celebrations presided over by Bp Lindsay.

Summer 2009

"Beating the bounds". Activities in the neighbourhoods of the parish to draw these communities towards the church.

August 2009

Review MAP and plan for next two years

In 2009 - 2010* we belive God is calling us to focus particularly on:

Building community - ensuring our worship and church fellowship continues to attract and retain those drawn in recent times using the "Growing Healthy Churches" initiative.

In 2010 - 2011* our focus will probably be:

Attending to God - establishing a more prayerful community energised by faith leading to a deeper awareness of our Christian stewardship.

* These key objectives are not 'set in stone' and may need to change in the light of changing circumstances.
